But when I met him in Melbourne He was a perfect host.
His flat was imacculate. Obviously a man who cared about all things great and small.

He was a compulsive liar for one thing.
He would do things like pretend his old fake name was dead and that he was someone else.
I could tell because he told me the real name of his previous incarnation. Which turned out to be his real name. He would answer his phone with said name when I rang him (more than once) then give me a feeble excuse when I told him what he did.
It's a psychological trait that is easy to recognise once one has a bit of experience with it. I have known others. Also people on the internet have told me that they were sure that was the case as well. Without me prompting them.
People like that think they can tell people any old crap and they will be belived. they tend to back it up with more lies. Actually they fool no one.People just go along with them because they can't think of anything better to do. Then they stay away. Well away. Liars like that never have any real friends for long. They get found out and people just aviod them.
But one has to feel a bit sorry for them. They can't help it. They just have to bullshit. It's automatic. The first thing they think to say is a lie. Then they just have to keep backing it up and backing it up. One can't help but see through them eventually. No matter how much one want's to trust and be friends with them.
Of course it usually does no harm and one wants to say (and I did) that they have been sprung and should just stop. They could easily be forgiven as they usually have caused no real harm. Except to themselves.
But they can't stop. It's pathological. Whatever that means. I am not a doctor.
I am just an old drunk. But then I am not an idiot either. I choose who I am. John had no choice. He had to lie. He couldn't think of anything else to do.
I suppose he is in Hell now trying to tell Satan what a good guy he is and how he shouldn't be there. Or maybe trying to bullshit his way into heaven?

I'll call him "JH" it's easier and i'll call Penguin AU "PA" for the same reason. JH = John Hopkins, PA = Penguin_au
So first JH was PA. easy to say but how do I know? Good question.
Well when I mt JH he told me all about his dead mat PA like his real name etc. Well it seems that was JH's real name as well. because when I rang his mobile he tice answered with the name of his dead friend ( I forget the name but lets just call it N for name for now).
The second time I asked him about it "why did you call yourself N?" He said he was thinking about him and made a mistake. Now think about that. Don't forget this was the second time. I only rang him twice I think and each time he answered with a name. I assume it was his name NOT his dead mates name. If he had a dead mate. He didn't. Well not that one. That had the same name as him.
I have had talks to others in this game. Well respected others. I won't mention names for now. But they told me he was a liar before I figured it out. I wasn't sure at first he is good at it. But when I worked it out for myself I mailed a couple of them back. Well trusted baiters of renown and not likely to tell me lies. We disscussed the matter.
He was the liar. We all agreed. Well three of us anyway.
So now he dies again, of cancer again and mentors a new person AGIAN.
So who the hell is HOG rider?
I bet he has a story. I bet it's a similar story that JH had when PA died.
Oh did I mention he mailed me? Not to long ago? Longer ago than his death though. He didn't mention anything about being sick. Wow he must have gone down real fast.
With the internet at his bedside and a new bloke HOG rider to take over as soon as he carked it.
I'm sure as he was dying in his last hours (it must have been only hours because he was fine a few days before. Well I assume so you can check the posts.
He turned to his new mate HOG rider (whom nobody ever heard of before)
And said with his last sad breath.
"Post to the board man, post to the board".

Oh by the way I did look at the photo on the web page, of the guys in Vietnam.
Three things. It's not tha same photo he showed me which actually did seem to portray him He is inusual looking. and the guy he says was him did look like him. It's not proof. The guy he said was Penguin AU looks nothing like any of the men in that picture. And although it might seem hard to tell .I have met the man and that guy on the ground in NOT him.
Trust me if it might be I would say "well maybe, it's hard to tell". etc.
But I am not an idiot, I can see and that is NOT the guy. I know what he looks like.

After Vincent´s Death, I have received many strange info from different sources.
It proved that Vincent is still alive. The cause of his death delusion was: He had sent death threats to many innocent people.
Below was a reply sending by Mr Rover, Admin of 419eater.org:

The issue is really simple. Vinnie had sent death threats to you. At the time I did not realize that you were not a user / member of www.419eater.org - however that is NOT important to me or the moderators of 419eater. We have received various emails that Vinnie had sent out - your one was among them. We all felt that if Vinnie had sent a death threat to ANYBODY - it is NOT someone that we want to have on our system. I asked him if he had sent the death threat - he said yes! I banned him from our system.
Hopefully that clears up our position on this issue. A death threat is illegal it is not something we want any user on 419eater associated with. It is for that reason that we ban Vinnie.

I'm sorry to say that all this is a fabrication of a deranged person. There is no 'Vincent Price'. This is just a sick twisted joke by someone who thinks it's funny to have real people leave condolences for a fake person. Lady Tramp is none other than banned member Vinnie, who has been baiting baiters here for a very long time. He is mentally ill and needs to seek professional help.
LT/Vinnie you have been exposed as a liar. We have more proof than you could possibly imagine.
We need members to understand that everything on those websites about Vinnie's apparent suicide is bogus. It takes a lot of effort to maintain these lies and this many personalities. We don't need people to encourage, or feed his delusions, so it's best if he's left alone to his own devices. There is no need to BADger him back.
Our concerns for his mental state are real. Please LT/Vinnie seek professional help.

Your Bi Polar disorder needs to be controlled with drugs. The lies you spread have hurt many people. You are deluded, but luckily not dangerous. We already have all of Vinnes real contact details. Home address, home phone, mobile phone and a list of email addresses and fake death dedication sites. The most important part we have is a series of email and private messages from Vinnies claiming to work the RAAF. I have spoken to the Royal Australian Air Force and they have told me that impersonating a member of the RAAF. This is illegal and a federal offense. I have asked Vinnie remove his fake death sites from the web. In failing that I will be passing all our proof to the RAAF next week.

In an e-mail exchange, John mentioned about Penguin_au, his close Friend!
Thanking for saving the Penguin_au Stuff.
Yes! I saw the post on Alex's Board-but I chose to IGNORE it, and ONE of the Main Reasons, is That I owed this Guy my life in Vietnam, he risked his own life to save mine, but in the same incident, was badly wounded trying to save others.
He had more Gaul and Guts, than some of the users of the Board did, okay he was not smart in cracking email accounts, nor hi-jacking Web sites, but he was advising Internet users who had been caught up in the Lottery scam several years before he came to Alex's Board.
This was all done through his own personal Web Sites, on Australian Lottery Results.
In regards to the attachment you sent me-yes! I saw that on the board as well, once again chose to IGNORE that as well. I do not know where it came from whatsoever.
But I expect nothing more from "AIR RAIDING" Space Cadets-who are so Full of themselves.
Okay my late Friend really got of the track in towards the end on Alex's Board. But understand the Penguin_au was on very Heavy doses of Morphine, towards the end, trying to cope with Two lots of Cancer that riddle his body. Thanks to the Australian Government, The Australian Army, and Vietnam.
This SP person has the only pictures of him in Vietnam, all seems lost in the missing Flash Memory stick-hence my post on Alex's Board calling for SP. But looks like to no avail, as there is not even a reply to a personal email account, and that hurts me as well.
This persons was in regular contact with Penguin_au, and with me so a short period of time.
So I am sure this person reads the emails that I have sent of late, and also the Post on the Board.
I know what I would like to REALLY SAY about this. But I am not going to.
Leaving for my Job in the North West early in the morning, will not be back in the City on R&R for another 14 days.

I remembered the first time I met John on The Nigerian Scam Baiting´s Message Board.
He seemed very active in scam baiting. One day I received his first email.

Just quickly I would like to say "HAPPY NEW YEAR".
Well it may be sad at the moment, but let us look at it this way.
Knowing John for such a short time I honestly do believe that John would not want us to mourn for to long.
But honestly believe that John would want us to move ahead and continue the good work.
I have done this by keeping his memory ALIVE.
The only thing that I can think of.

That was the first time in our relationship that Vincent told me the truth about his health issues. I received his Special Christmas Message dated on 22nd December 2005.
It is very late here in Australia, actually nearly 1 o'clock in the morning. For some reason I can not sleep. I am dreading going to sleep. I have this dreaded feeling in the pit of my stomach, that I will soon get bad news. And you understand what I am saying.
Went down around 6pm our time yesterday, was still done when I left for hospital, and Day Surgery. Had a large Funny Spot cut out from my left temple. They believe it is a Cancer growth-Malanoma. Because of the size and depth, a skin graph was taken from the bottom of my neck, to fill the hole.
I am okay, a bit groggy, but otherwise fine-no pain.
Will know the results in a fortnight.
I would like to finish off by sending you this, and wishing you and your family all the best for the Festive Season.

Turbulent moments had begun as we received a bad news of John through a Salvation Army Tracing Service that we had already suspected for months.
NOW NOT REALLY GOOD NEWS:
This Afternoon, my time, I received a telephone call from the Salvation Army Tracing Service.
They have managed to track down my good Friend and Mentor to Scam Baiting.
John is very seriously ill in hospital.
I have rung the hospital concerned, and spoke to the person in charge of the Ward, and then to one of the treating Doctor's.
John is so seriously ill, he is not expected to make it after this coming week-end.
I have been informed it could be a matter of hours, or the next 24 to 48 hours.
John decline all possible treatment for his Cancer.
But have been assured that he is being kept Pain Free and is resting comfortably.

Do not know it was but something woke me up.
Now John Served with the Australian Army and he was based in Vietnam at Nui Dat and not at Vung Tau.

Well just below you will see the following;-
1ATF BASE
This was the base most of the patrolling was done from.
Which to me seems around 30 to 40 km's from where the Australian's had their support base on the Vung Tau Peninsular -1 ALSG.
This is where the Field Hospital was situated, where Neil Crawford [Penguin AU] served his first tour of 12 months. He was one his 3rd tour at Nui Dat, when he met John.
John only went to the actual Town of Vung Tau on local leave -46 hour pass from my understanding.
But would arrive on the troopship at Vung Tau when his unit arrived in Vietnam.
Phuoc Tuy, was allocated to the Australians as their area of operations by the Government and Americans.
This is my understanding.

All about John E Hopkins.
John:
Was known as a National Serviceman.
At the age of 20 he received his Call up Paper for a 2 year stint in the Australian Regular Army.
National Service was drawn on a Ballot system, something like a lottery, where numbered balls where drawn. The numbers on the drawn Balls represented the days of the month, or birthdays. And of course John's marble, as it was called was draw.
John entered recruit training at Puckapunal Army base in Victoria, and underwent 13 weeks of Basic Training. He then moved to Sigleiton in New South Wales to enter the Infantry (cannon Fodder) Training School for another 13 weeks.
Upon passing out from here John was posted to the 4th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (4RAR), and at the time was based at Townsville, Queensland
Just before the Battalion left for a 12 month tour of Duty, they attend the Jungle Training School-in the hither land of the Gold Coast, Queensland.
It was once they were in Vietnam that Neil Crawford (Penguin AU) joined them as a Battalion Medic, as the unit he was serving with at time of Transfer was the Infantry Battalion that John's was replacing. From what John has told me, they where both stationed at the Australian Task Head quarters, at Nui Dat, in the Phuoc Tuy Provence, inland from Vung Tau - Vietnam.
They patrolled very heavy in this area around and from the base. Places like I understand where numerous Rubber Plantation's swamps, and also some hilly area's - Long Hai Hills???? Ba Ria? Hoa Long.
It was on one of these mission's in some Hill area that John was badly wounded, and it was Neil that attended to him and kept him alive till John could be taken out by helicopter back to the Australian hospital at Vung Tau {Spelling maybe]
This was nearly 3 months after that photo was taken.
And from there their friendship formed. When they where both living in Melbourne Victoria before Neil's Death.
While both guys were serving over there, they were exposed to Chemicals sprayed from the Air on to the jungle that they went out on patrols with. Also these same chemicals were sprayed around the camp, tent lines, to control weed growth.
It is from these chemicals, many years later, it was recognized that Vietnam Veterans were contracting several different types of Cancer's.
We have seen Neil or Penguin loose his fight against this and now maybe John and me.
I never knew Penguin, only heard about this person as a Scam Baiter, and from what I have heard, he was right Up there and among some of the best??????? And that he was grooming John as well, into Scam Baiting??

Something about Neil W Crawford and his Nickname "Penguin_au" :
A Bit more about PENGUIN AU, believe the AU represented or denoted as being in Australia.
But this was the story given to me by John.
When this guy first joined the Army and entered recruit camp, and after a few days of learning how to march, do turn's and that sort of stuff, one of the drill instructors had a go at him (Neil Crawford) and bawled him out. The story was that the drill instructors reckon he did not march like a human being, nor staggered like a human being, but actually waddle like a penguin, and that in future he would have to answer to the name of "Recruit Penguin", so that name sort of stuck. And that he used this nick name even in later life.
From what John was telling me, Neil was a very caring person, and always helping people. For a certain action in Vietnam PENGUIN as I to know him as, actually brought four wounded Australian troops into cover, before exposing himself to bring in the 5th guy, when he was badly wounded himself-Penguin I mean.
Not sure where you are, but Penguin received a high Award for this action. It is known in Australia as the Military medal-the highest Award that an NCO could receive for" BRAVERY UNDER FIRE". Bar what is known as the Victoria Cross. Penguin was only 20 years old at the time, but a very brave and dedicated Army Medic.
Only wish that I had a chance to meet him.
Regarding our mutual Friend John Hopkins, well I have not heard from him-by email as of 13th of October. He was due to return up North, and he just got the news from a visit to the hospital.
Have tried many venues here to get a message to him, even placing notices in the Public Notice sections of the West Australian newspapers but to no avail. Been through the Returned Service people, and even found the web site for his old Battalion Assoc. They wrote back that they had no contact with him either.
Like it has that John has just disappeared of the face of the Earth. I hope that he is not Real Sick in some hospital bed somewhere. But if I do hear anything I will let you know.
Well my friend it is now nearly 4:00 am and need a break-time for a nice hot cup of Tea.

Vincent sent me later the picture, which John and Neil in action in Vietnam.
They were only 20 years old as the picture was taken by the photographer Dennis Gibbons.
Thought that you might like to receive the image of John in Action in Vietnam.
Looking at the scanned page-reading from left to right, John (HOPKINS) is laying on the ground close the centre of the picture, or the second guy laying on the ground coming from left to right.
Now another interesting person in this photograph is the guy standing in the middle of the image, holding the rifle high and helping to drag a wounded solider to safety.
Not sure if you know of him from the Board or not, but his name was Neil Crawford, but went under the baiting name of Brett Sutton or Penguin AU.
From my understanding Neil was a very sick guy-once again from the BIG "C" (Cancer) as we call it over here. From what I have been told, he died on the operating table around March or April last year. Also from what John told me in email exchanges that Neil-Penguin AU was very sick towards the end and some of the post on the board became very erratic.
Especially at the time there was great debated about another poster-who was also new to Alex's board at the time- Rian Visser from 419 legal. There was a lot of doubt about this person being a SAPS Officer. From what I heard, that this person targeted Neil, to prove his own worth. Not sure from my understanding, Neil being as sick as he was, should be taken him head on. Towards the end, and close going into hospital, from what I have told, Neil was a very high Doses/level of Morphine to control the pain.
Anyway John and Neil became very good mates. Nearly 4 months after the photograph was taken John told me that Neil saved his life in the field after he was badly wounded. They kept in contact with each other after there Army days. John was not a Baiter at first, but took over when Neil passed away. John took over the bsutton@hotmail.com account, as he had the password, which John passed onto me, hence it why I used it some of the post earlier today.
See the Im-poster tried the same thing, but this person added an extra "B" then later claimed to be JB and accused himself of tweaking an email address. Silly person was replying to his own board postings.
Anyway it is getting late so I better get off this email with the image attached. If it alright I would like to send a Web Page that I made up using Front Page, for your opinion.

John and Neil were in action in Vietnam

Some people asked me suspicious:
John E Hopkins, Neil W Crawford (Penguin_au) and Vincent E Price, are they one and the same or are they separate people?
I hope that at the end of this story, you will find out the correct answer!
I never met Vincent, John or Neil in my life. Our relationship developed only on Internet through Scam Baiting Action.
Also because of the "Golden Rules of Scam Baiting" we must keep our private info secretly.
John Hopkins was Vincent´s Best Friend and Mentor in Scam Baiting. Both of them had lost the battle of Cancer by the same way.
Before Vincent died, he still reached shutting down one fake bank and one fake finance company website only in one week. A very well done work!.
All my Death Friends belonged to the "Best of the Best Scam Baiters" in the World.
I am very proud of them.
The following chapter has been written by Vincent about the Autobiography of John Hopkins and Neil Crawford.
OUR MUTUAL FRIEND:
Well you had a few private email exchanges with him, the same as I did. His name is John Hopkins. Use to live in Melbourne Victoria-Australia, till he packed up and drove to Perth. Use to exchange emails with him- at least two a week, sometimes more on scam baiting. I know he was working UP NORTH as he put it. Would fly from Perth to Port Headland, and from there out to an Off-shore Oil Platform.
But I have not heard from him for several months now, even though he used to spend 2 weeks on the platform, then a week back in Perth. I have a mobile telephone number for him, but my messages are going un-answered.
Last mail I got from John was several months ago. He had just come back from some hospital in Perth, with the news the he had in-operable Cancer. Did you know that John served in Vietnam, and he thought that the cause of the Cancer was from the chemicals used and sprayed around.
Just recently found a book that he often mentioned, and came across the photograph that he described. Shows him in action in Vietnam, along with a good friend, a former scam baiter-who and I am not sure if you know, passed away, on the operating table about 16 to 18 months ago.
ABOUT ME:
I also live in Australia. Mature age student studying Media Studies at Uni-2 more years to go. I ride a Harley FAT BOY=hence the word HOG in my nickname-Harley Owners Group. And of course EASY RIDER came from an old movie-Brando was the lead actor I believe-from around the 50's.

My tears begin to flow as I wrote these lines and remembered to all memories we have had with each other in this short time …
The memories were still too fresh to forget…
One day, Vincent tried defining the word "Destiny" to me:
Maybe Not Destiny, How about Faith!
...Not sure if you agree it could be Faith more than Destiny, that we are keeping in contact with each other.
My deep down belief that when John left for that big Drive from one side of our country and across some of the farsh's country in the world, that he did not plan that we still would keep in contact.
I feel that this is John's work that this is happening.
And John is still looking down and after us both, as our Guardian Angel.
The reason behind my thinking:
John loved us both, in his own certain way.
As God shall be my witness.
But feel that this one describes our true feelings.
Do not worry, because I feel John and Neil [Penguin AU] have met up, and swapping stories and tales again.
And they both are still looking down on us, and happy to see that we are still carrying on their good work.
And I think that this answers your question in a earlier email about you being in Germany and Mr in Australia.

Australia, 29.03.2006 14:37 + 11, the day, in which my friend went into death!

I began writing these lines, after my best friend on the other side of the globe, he had committed suicide, because of an incurable skin cancer in the last stage, in which the medical treatments (painful Chemo-Therapy-Treatments)cannot help any longer.
This tragic history resulted to a relationship between Vincent and me on Internet. We have met each other, five months ago (November 2005) through a foreign on-line forum, with the name "Nigerian Scam Baiting's Message Board". In this short time arose many beautiful unforgettable memories as well as many turbulent moments, in which our Friendship developed on Internet.

Something has been changed after John´s Death!
- Alex´s Board is now Spams free. We have brought the normal atmosphere back.
- Public warnings activity has been started... The Message Board has provided more informated and educated guide for consumers.
- Board users posted interesting news again.
- There are some new names on the Board.

- And at least, I have received today the second Death Threat with evidences from
our fellow best friend Ned Kelly.

It was on this day that I learnt the passing on my friend in Scam Baiting passed away in an Hospic's after a short battle with Cancer.
MY VERY SAD DAY INDEED.
I first met John E Hopkins or Hopalong as he was also known through Comrade Alexander Kerensky Message Board.
This is the first Scam Baiting Forum that I joined and from here a friendship developed between us.
I always stand by him and supported him on his Scam Baiting... until his Death separated us.
John has passed the torch of Scam Baiting to Ned Kelly and me for continuing his way...
We will do it with all our BEST, John!.
The inspirastion of a fellow Scam Baiter´s web site, Ned Kelly and I have decided to set up a Dedication Page not only to John Hopkins but also to another great Scam Baiter - Penguin Au. I have heard many reports about this Scam Baiter, and from my understanding, Penguin Au was up there with the Best of the Best of Scam Baiter's.
